There are so many reasons why taking some time out before the wedding to connect in a unique and meaningful way is a good idea... But if you've followed my blog for a while, I probably sound like a broken record on this topic. I just really value experimentation, adventure and connection as a means to make your wedding photography process more memorable and organic.
Casey and Jonathan had understood this, so we took a little road trip together down the coast to a pretty spectacular place. Second Valley is a probably South Australia's best kept secret (until know I suppose). Epic hikes, fishing, swimming and if your feeling rebellious (and perhaps a little bit reckless), cliff diving! But for photographers, it's basically a giant playground of incredible land and seascapes, interesting lines and angles, and the most dramatic mix of heavy shadows and gorgeous light that spills all over the jagged rock walls in every direction.
Our drive took us way south of Adelaide which is relatively unfamiliar territory for these guys who will be tying the knot just outside of their home town of Balaklava this October! We had a great chance to chat along the way, and we even cracked a couple of beers when all was said and done. Needless to say, I'm super excited to finish telling their story later this year, and I'm absolutely stoked with how easy and fun they've been to photograph thus far!
