Priscila and Jorge's intimate wedding at the Ancient Spanish Monastery in Miami was an absolute pleasure to photograph. I've been to some small weddings in my time, and in each case the couple has a very different and often beautiful reason for keeping it small and relatively informal. I think the best part about this approach is how genuine and authentic people are more likely to act without the stress and theatrics of a bigger formal wedding. Those are great too, but give me two people who are willing to be unashamedly themselves, who will wear their hearts on their sleeves and who will be 100% "in the moment" during this beautiful transformation, and I am one happy photographer.
All in all this wedding wasn't about the cake, it wasn't about the epic location, it wasn't about the dress (although it was beautifully handmade by the groom's sister and sent from Columbia for the event). It was about two people who have found themselves in one another... and who wanted to share this discovery with only their closest family and friends before hosting a bigger more traditional wedding when the time is right. I was honored to witness this little story. Here's my take on it...
