Tammy and Fraser have a unique story. From literal opposite ends of the earth, the universe pulled them together to forge a new center... if only for a day. And on this day, beautiful objects, people and emotions swirled and danced all around.
It takes a pretty special couple to warrant the 24 hours of travel required to reach Australia's Mornington Peninsula all the way from Miami Beach. But clearly, enough family and friends thought these guys were worth the effort... and that made this a rare and beautiful event to say the least.
Tammy is originally from Cuba, and Fraser (like myself) is an Aussie on the path to naturalization in the USA. The pair live in Miami and are puppy parents to Roscoe, who's probably the cutest golden-doodle going around. But, I digress. Prior to this shindig, the three of us took a trip to Havana to pay homage to Tammy's family history, and to photograph a chapter of their story against the gritty yet delicate Caribbean background. Click here to see those photos and learn more about this story.
For their wedding though, an entirely different scene awaited them. The coast of southeastern Australia is a special place. Rugged and beautiful, it's difficult to be anything but inspired when shooting there. Tammy's father couldn't be there in person, but seeing her Mother walk her down the aisle in his stead almost broke me... and I spent a few minutes shooting through watery eyes (thank goodness for autofocus).
I'll let the photographs take it from here, but before I go, I want to Thank Tammy and Fraser one last time for committing so deeply to my process. I count you firmly among my friends and I was honored to witness let alone document this epic tale of love and adventure.
Enjoy!
