We are finally settling in to our new home in Adelaide, and man what an amazing location for family portrait photography! It's not something we've done much of lately, but on this lazy winter afternoon we decided to take a break from unpacking and go on a little adventure. One thing I realised on our walk is how important it is to cherish spontaneous moments like these. Traditional family portraits have always made me cringe a little bit. They have a tendency to be too stiff and forced, and you never really get a sense of who people are behind the cheesy grins. So we've decided to do something about it, and attempt to create a new category of photography in Adelaide... Documentary Family Portraits. The goal is to capture families of all kinds, living their lives as naturally as can be. Maybe there's an activity involved, maybe you're just goofing around in your home. Either way, we want to see the real you, and give you something awesome to remember how beautiful everyday life with your loved ones can be. So if you, or someone you know might be interested in us documenting your little clan of rad humans, then please get in touch. Don't consider it a portrait session or photo shoot, more like a casual hangout. We'll trade tales, joke around a bit the let the awesomeness of your family guide where we point the camera. Here's what we shot of our family with one camera, one lens and one location in about 45 minutes. I'll remember this day forever. If you prefer to view them as a slideshow with music - click here.
