Katelyn and Carlos met over 8 years ago in New York's JFK airport. Although they were boarding different planes, they were in fact bound for the same destination (in more ways than one). They were both heading to Italy to study abroad in Florence through Syracuse University. Once there, they spent their free days taking in the sights and tastes of this incredible place. Needless to say, along the way they fell in love with the city, and with each other.
It's stories like this that reinforce my belief that some relationships are truly fated.
One this trip, we revisited their story which took us all over florence. It was almost like tour through their relationship, where I could see how effortlessly their chemistry was formed all those years ago, and how strong it remains today. One rather important stop was made at the Boboli Gardens, where we found a quiet nook away from the tourists and Katelyn and Carlos solidified their bond with some of the most beautiful words I've ever heard uttered by a Bride and Groom.
Then, naturally, we found some rather tasty gelato and watched the sunset from the Arno River. Perfect!
One side note I want to mention... I had a lot of help on this adventure from my side kick (and new secret weapon for crafting more intimate and personal stories), Francesca. She has recently come on board Joshua Kane Photography in a lot of new and exciting ways. In particular, we are collaborating to offer all-inclusive elopement packages that include: Photography, Planning, Florals, Hair and Make Up, Transportation, and Officiant. It's basically a one stop shop where we'll aim to get to know couples and their story so well and plan an elopement or intimate wedding so personal and unique to their personalities and tases that they'll feel like they've planned it themselves. So if this concept sounds appealing to you or someone you know, and if you love these images from Katelyn and Carlos' Italian adventure, please don't hesitate to reach out and start the conversation with Frankie and I.
For now, enjoy the images!
