It's late... and I'm tired. But I love this story so much, I need you to see it. However, I don't think I have enough energy to write eloquently about what this particular wedding meant to me. For now, I'll just say that Amy and Nick's story encapsulates everything I love about this craft and the connections and experience that have come from it. They're just beautiful souls who I feel so fortunate to have met and photographed.
I recently emailed them their slideshow, here's what Nick had to say in response:
"Dude. DUDE.
Holy crap you're good at this! This is truly amazing.
Amy and I did as instructed, opened a bottle of vino (still drinking leftover wedding wine!) and dived in, watched it a couple of times and got swept away to the whole event and the feels of it all! So many familiar perspectives, and so many new ones. Totally love seeing our peeps enjoying themselves from a different perspective too.
And dude - thank you for being such a big part of this whole thing. You helped us a ton along the way and on the day. I'd never really considered a strong connection with someone in your position really possible - and that you are now part of the gang is testament to how you think about your work entirely differently: far from just a dude with a camera, but a meaningful addition to our wedding party. Your approach is unique (we've been to five weddings this year and have seen some pretty production-line style photographers) and we're both really glad of the serendipity of being in the right place at the right time!!
Thank you."
