As a wedding and elopement photographer... as someone who observes love, up close and across a wide spectrum people, cultures, traditions and rituals... every now and then, you get to tell a story like this one. It's a story of humility, openness, fate, reinvention, adventure and of course, love.
Kimberley and Garth's story began with a chance encounter, at point in life where neither of them expected to find themselves. Nor could they imagine that this encounter would lead to where they are now.
But sometimes, when you wade slowly into the currents of fate, when you allow yourself to flow easily with the tides, you find yourself on a new shoreline, watching a new sunrise and breathing a new type of air.
Kimberley, is a strong, proud and beautiful Aboriginal woman. As warm and kind as the rolling South Australian hills in summertime. Garth, is a humble ocean lover. As rugged and cool as the coastline where this story takes place. Both, having been through marriage before, wanted their unique story to be untainted by the expectations and pressures that often surround weddings, and instead decided to craft an elopement experience that pays homage to who they are, the things they care about, and that truly reflects their personalities.
For me, following along on this adventure and seeing their narrative weave it's way through this incredible landscape, was an experience I'll cherish forever.
