I love what I do. Especially when I get to do it for friends who are living a great story. And the Ingles family is certainly living a great story.
Interestingly, we have more than a few things in common... Australians living in the US, chasing passions and loving every minute of it... but also parents of twins. There are some pretty unique challenges that come with these circumstances; distance from family and friends, hectic schedules, the quest for balance between immersing yourself in your passion and personal goals and immersing yourself in your family life whole heartedly. Add to this, the daily battle of raising rambunctious twin toddlers, and all the glorious chaos that comes with it. Understanding these little struggles from a similar perspective also means I can relate and recognize the beauty in the struggle.
Within every young family, there's a secret life of hilarious idiosyncrasies that others would surely find strange. Goofy games and jokes, nonsensical language and habits, and the endless stories that you'll never quite understand unless you were there.
During my time with these guys, it was my mission to get inside their dynamic, understand and expose all the little quirks that make them unique. From a parent's perspective, these are things you'll most want to remember years down the road. Hopefully this paints a picture of what the Ingles family life is really like. Whilst Joe is living out his dream in the most incredible way, Renae holds it down at home in heroic fashion and is miraculously fulfilling her dreams too. As for the twins, well, it's safe to say they have some pretty amazing role models who will undoubtedly inspire and guide them in the future, but who will also be there for all the giggles, spills, falls, stains, bruises, smells and struggles in the meantime.
I can't thank Renae and Joe enough for letting me in to their world for a day. Here's what it looked like.
